Xiaomi might launch 'smart' water purifier in India
Vice-president of Xiaomi Hugo Barra has hinted at the possible launch of the Xiaomi filter in India. He said, "This is a product we'd LOVE to bring to India soon — Mi Water Purifier. Just announced today, it makes tap water drinkable with Reverse Osmosis (RO), is super compact, shows real-time water quality, and reminds you on your smartphone when it's time to replace the filter."
The Mi Water Purifier, priced at around Rs 13,279 approximately, has been developed with Yunmi Technology. The purifier uses Reverse Osmosis (RO) to purify water.
There are four filters, and just like other Xiaomi products, this purifier can be controlled via smartphone. Installed app would give real-time data on the purity of the water, and also remind when it is time to change the filters. The purifier is also smaller and 8 times faster than a standard purifier.
